Global Donors Foundation ("GDF," "we," "our") respects your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding that information.

What We Collect

When you donate

• Name and email address for receipts and communication
• Donation amount and date
• Donation anonymity preference, if you choose one
• Payment information processed by Stripe. Full card numbers, bank account numbers, and payment credentials do not touch GDF's servers.

When you subscribe to our newsletter

• Email address
• Marketing consent status and subscription timestamp

When you contact us

• Name, email, and the content of your message

When you visit our website

We use the minimum operational data needed to serve the website, prevent abuse, and understand whether core assets such as the compliance one-pager are being requested. We do not use tracking pixels, advertising cookies, remarketing beacons, or ad-network identifiers.

How We Use Your Information

• Process and acknowledge your donation
• Send receipts and maintain donation records for tax and compliance reporting
• Send grant stories, organizational updates, and newsletters when you have given explicit consent
• Respond to questions, partnership inquiries, and privacy requests
• Improve website reliability and understand which public resources are useful to visitors

We do not sell, share, rent, or trade your personal information with any third party for marketing purposes. Ever.

Donor Anonymity

You may request anonymity on any public recognition surface, such as a donor list or public acknowledgment. GDF will honor this request while retaining your identity internally for tax receipt and compliance purposes, as required by law.

Consent

Transactional emails — donation receipts, refund notifications, account-security alerts, and other operational messages directly tied to a donation you made — do not require separate opt-in. Sending you a receipt is a legal obligation, not marketing.

Marketing emails — newsletters, fundraising appeals, and programmatic updates not tied to a specific gift — require explicit consent. If you donate, you are not automatically subscribed to marketing. Subscribing requires a deliberate action, and unsubscribing requires only one click.

Third-Party Services

GDF uses third-party services to operate the website and process communications:

Children's Privacy

GDF does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has submitted personal information to us, please contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy as our organization grows. Material changes will be noted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. We will not reduce your privacy protections retroactively.
